Code of Conduct

The Handbook of Code of Conduct of Krishnagar Women’s College contains a set of guidelines, rules and regulations that define the principles ,values and standards of professional conduct of the stakeholders of the institution -Principal,teachers,librarians,non-teaching employees and students. It aims to act as a guide and benchmark against which the performance of the stakeholders can be assessed and measured.

Code of Conduct for Students

Krishnagar Women’s College, being the only College for women in the district, maintains a well-drafted code of conduct that aims to set parameters for academic excellence and fulfilling the stated mission and vision of the institution. It acts as a guide for the stakeholders, the students being one of the most important parts of the institution. Once admitted, the students are to follow the rules and regulations of the institution in order to maintain academic discipline inside the campus as well as outside the campus. They become aware of what is expected of them and the Dos and Don’ts as outlined by the institution.

  1. Admitted students must abide by the University directive regarding attendance (more than 75%) in classes, failing which they will not be allowed to sit for Semester-end Examination.
  2. Students must wear their Identity Cards issued by the College authority inside the College. Identity Cards are also required at the time of borrowing books from the library.
  3. Ragging in any form is strictly prohibited in the College campus as well as in the Hostel. Anti-ragging Guidelines issued by UGC are enforced and it is mandatory that students sign and submit the Anti-Ragging Declaration Form at the beginning of the session. They can report any incident of ragging to the Anti-Ragging Cell of the College.
  4. Students are not allowed to adopt any unfair means at the time of examination.
  5. Students are not allowed to loiter in the corridors.
  6. Use of Cell phones during class lectures and in the examination hall is strictly prohibited.
  7. Students are expected to follow the College Notice Board as well as the College website for notices and other academic information.
  8. Students should stay away from any act of violence that may disrupt the conducive atmosphere of the College. They should take note that the College campus including the Hostel area is under CCTV surveillance.
  9. Use of caste and religion-based discriminatory and derogatory remarks is an act of humiliation and indignity and it is strictly discouraged.
  10. Participation in the various cultural and extension activities organized by the College is mandatory for the students.
  11. It is expected of students that they should maintain a friendly relationship with their fellow students and behave respectfully with the Principal, teachers, librarians and non-teaching employees of the College.

Code of Conduct for Teachers

  1. Teachers shall carry out the academic and administrative duties and responsibilities .
  2. Teachers shall strictly adhere to their statutory duties as mentioned in the Statute of University of Kalyani.
  3. Teachers shall not remain absent in the College without informing the authority or prior intimation before going on leave.
  4. Teachers should act as guides and mentors of the students ,assist them inside and outside classrooms ,complete their assigned portion of the syllabus on time and prepare them for their examinations.
  5. Teachers are expected to be without prejudice and bias. They should behave with the students in a decent manner ,irrespective of their caste,creed and religion.
  6. Teachers must desist themselves from political campaign.
  7. Teachers are not allowed to engage themselves in private tuitions and coaching classes.
  8. Teachers are required to behave cordially with the Principal, carry out her instructions, and other support staff of the institution.
  9. It is expected that teachers should be role models to the other stakeholders of the institution.
  10. Teachers should be dedicated and committed to their institutional duties and help the students to come out successful and empowered.

Code of Conduct for Non-teaching Staff

The non-teaching staff is the most important part of the College administration.It is the backbone of the institution that helps running the institution.A strong official support is required for the day-to-day administration of the College.They also have to follow a set of guidelines as stipulated as Code of Ehics by the collge authority.

  1. The non-teaching staff of the College must be punctual and regular in their daily attendance.
  2. They must be polite and respectful in their behavior with the Principal and the faculty members.
  3. The non-teaching employees should carry out Principal’s order and support her in all the official work.
  4. They should deal with the students with patience ,care and kindness.
  5. Involvement in any anti-social activities or dereliction of duties will attract stringent punishment.
